Prambanan Temple
The most graceful and elegant. Prambanan Temple was completed about 900AD. After collapsed about 1600, major restoration was begun in 1918, and was completed in 1953.

The name, "Prambanan" was derived from the village on which Northern fringe is located. Locally known as the "Loro Joggrang" Temple.

It is reputed to be the most beautiful Hindu Temple in Indonesia, with a height of 47m. The walls are covered and decorated with wonderful artistic reliefs depicting the episodes of romantic Ramayana story.

Nearby is an open stage where the Ramayana Ballet is annually performed from May through October during the clear nights and under the full moon.
