Radya Pustaka Museum
The "Radya Pustaka" (Royal Library) is the oldest one in Indonesia, built in 1890 by the Kasunanan's Prime Minister - KRA Sosrodiningrat IV.

The building itself is a maintained old Dutch one, located on the main street of Solo, Jalan Slamet Riyadi.
Arriving there, you will be welcomed by a life-size statue of Ronggowarsito - a famous Javanese poet - and a pair of old cannons in the front yard.

The museum has a good collection of antiquities, such as ceremonial hats, ancient Chinese porcelains, traditional weapons, high-standard complete set of leather puppets, statues of the ancient Buddhist and Hindu-Java gods. All of those treasures are well displayed and maintained.

One of the remarkable collections is the huge figureheads used for the foremost part of a Royal barges once used to journey up and down through Solo river called "Kyai Rajamala".

Note : The Museum Closes on Mondays
