A large number of
Javanese men, especially in Solo and Jogyakarta, are bird lovers. Even there are some kind
of communities of bird lovers, which are divided into the kinds of birds that they look
after. Every certain times, they held a competition for those birds. In a bird
competition, usually there are hundreds of participants. If a bird wins, not only the
owner who would receive a big prize, but the bird itself, it would have a very high price,
reaching thousands of dollars.....!!! In

bird lovers browse and
haggle over a multitude of parrots, cockatoos, macaws, parakeets, thrushes, lories,
minivets, sunbirds, guineafowl, and many more kinds of tropical birds. So much fun to see
those colorful birds, with so many kinds of sound.....!!! Instead of the birds, there is also another interesting
one....... the bird cages....!!! Even a bird cage, is reached by the artistic touch of
Javanese. You would notice that some expensive birds, have the cages painted with fancy
colors, and with various kinds of shapes. Some even have airbrush paintings and nice
carvings, so that the cage, would match with the expensive bird. What a fun.....!!!
